Position: Fabricator
Shift: Monday-Thursday, 6:00am - 4:30pm

Job Summary:
Set up and operate metal fabricating machines such as brakes, punches, rolls, shears, saws, and presses.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operation.
• Selects, positions, and secures dies, blades, cutters, and fixtures onto machine.
• Positions and clamps stops, guides, and turntables.
• Adjusts controls to set and regulate machining factors such as pressure and depth of ram stroke, adjustment rolls, blade angle, and machine speed.
• Locates and marks bending or cutting lines and reference points on workpiece.
• Positions workpiece against stops and guides or aligns layout marks with dies or cutting blades.
• Starts machine and observes machine operation to reposition workpiece, change dies, or adjust machine settings for multiple or successive passes.
• Helps unload incoming material from semi delivery trucks.
• Safe and proper use of forklifts, overhead chain hoists (powered and non-powered), hammers, pneumatic grinders, impact wrenches and drills, C-clamps, vice grips and other hand tools.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Must be able to follow methods and procedures.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and shop drawings.
• Ability to use a square or combination square, straightedge ruler and tape measure.
• Detail-oriented and consistent.
• Works well as a productive member of a team.
• Basic ability in mathematics, reading, and writing.
• Must have the ability to work rapidly and under pressure for extended periods of time in order to meet build requirements.
Education/Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of manufacturing materials, processes, and specifications preferred.
• Mechanical experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
• Must have manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
• Must be able to see details at close range.
• Must be able to lift 20 to 50 pounds occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
• Must be able to navigate facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
• Wear and work in personnel protective equipment.
Work Environment:
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
• Noise level is moderate to loud.
• Frequently exposed to airborne particles.
• Exposure to heat/humidity during summer months.
